Hydration

Water is essential to our bodies to lubricate our joints and prevent pain and stiffness, to remove toxic waste through our kidneys and colon, to prevent loss of memory as we age, to improve the function of our heart and circulatory system as it works to get the oxygen and blood to all the places it needs to go, and a multitude of other functions to maintain life!! More than 50% of our nation is chronically dehydrated. I don’t want that to be YOU!! Today’s video will be talking about the harmful things that we tend to hydrate our bodies with (and the bodies of our children) and will discuss some details about how to hydrate our bodies with the water that it needs to function optimally!! A couple of things that I want to clarify from the video…1) FOODS can also be hydrating…like soups (obviously) and high-water content veggies like lettuce and spinach! It’s easy to forget about those! 2) IF you are a heavy sweater, drink lots of caffeinated beverages, or use sauna, hot tub, or heavy duty exercise habits…You will need a little more water daily than the recommendation that I provided. 3.) things like too much sugar and artificial sweeteners and food dyes can injure the gut by causing intestinal PERMEABILITY. Not impermeability (which is what came out of my mouth ðŸ˜‰) Sometimes it is hard to make sure I get all the information into the video that I want to have…in the right order, with all the right words ðŸ˜Š Have a great week!!
